Bed Wetting – A Normal Condition in Small Children

There are millions of kids and children in their adolescence all around the world that wet the bed every single night. Bed wetting is a common condition and problem for young kids. Kids feel embarrassed and ashamed to discuss this with friends; they may feel that they are the only ones, who wet the bed, but this is not the case at all, it’s just what they misinterpret. The envision name for bed wetting is Nocturnal Enuresis, this means excessive urine at night. The first and foremost thing to understand is that bed wetting is never done knowingly or purposefully, it is something that your body does not have any control on, it has been researched that children who adapt this habit are mostly unable to sense that their urine bladders are ready to be emptied hence they do not wake up to go and pee in their toilets and end up wetting their beds instead, that doesn’t mean that they are slobby or lazy, it happens unknowingly, it is also observed that such children often dream that they are peeing in the bathroom and ultimately end up wetting their beds and realize it only when they wake up to see themselves totally wet. 

Bed wetting is a common problem in children and can affect siblings too. It causes stress and embarrassment for children and their families but it does have cure too. Some physicians say that the ability to control the bladder may take a long time for some children. Bed wetting caused by medical problem is rare; most of the cases of bed wetting are hereditary. Bladder control is not something that we are born with, small babies and children do not have bladder controlling capacities and that’s the reason when the bladder becomes full it gets emptied automatically and the child does not realize this. But as children grow they start feeling and realizing that their bladder is getting full and they learn to control it. Bed wetting is a common problem for children until the age of five.

Bed wetting is usually done by children who are deep-sleepers. Trying to wake up a child who is a deep-sleeper and who has already wet his bed is like banging your head on the wall. If your child is a regular bed wetter, there are techniques to get rid from this problem and make him dry. Try to make him go to the wash rooms and pee every night before sleep. Don’t make him drink much water before sleeping. If this does not work, then consult your doctor and talk to him about your child’s bed wetting condition. Doctors would recommend you to follow a treatment for Enuresis that educates your mind to do adapt certain habits like, wake up, so that you can proceed and pee in the bathroom or stay in bed and control your bladder till the morning.
